Professor Chris Wortham

After 30 years at UWA, Chris Wortham retired as Emeritus Professor at the end of 2005.  Since 2009 he has held the position of Professor of Theatre Studies and English Literature at the University of Notre Dame Australia in Fremantle. Formerly a member of the Executive of ANZ Shakespeare Association and former President of the ANZA Association for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Edited Parergon from 1995 to 2001. Publications include editions of Everyman,  Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus, and Marvell’s Pastoral and Lyric Poems; co-edited numerous collections, including Renaissance in the South, This Earthly Stage and European Perceptions of Terra Australis. He has published numerous articles on Shakespeare and is currently working on a book to be entitled Shakespeare’s Maps. He serves on editorial and advisory boards of academic journals and internet editions, including the Internet Shakespeare Editions.
